Dispatches from a Desert Isle: Woodpecker Neighbors

Day ???

"What be that bird who whistles in my ear?" I ask myself daily. I am informed by my host, the jolly Cap'n Cutlip, that it be the Northern Flicker, a bird that also dwells back at home with you, my beloveds, though much like me he make these parts his winter home. Perhaps this noisome fellow is the very bird that inhabits our largest tree and hammers to us through the Spring, come to watch over me until I find my way home!
